Travel Update – 28/10/2012

The next few days are dedicated to exploring the old sights and sounds of the historic Route 66 – decommissioned in 1985. Most of the travel East to Oklahoma City will take place on Interstate 40 with several diversions along the way to stay at historic hotels and drink coffee at diners that still embrace what this stretch of road represents in the American and International psyche. Freedom.

Travel Update 28/10/2012: Alburquerque, NM – Tucumcari, NM including a stop at the National Atomic Museum an overnight stay at the Blue Swallow Motel .

Travel Update 29/10/2012: Tucumcari, NM – Amarillo, TX including a stop at the Midpoint Cafe for coffee and a piece of ‘Ugly Crust’ Pie and an overnight stay at the Big Texan Steak Ranch & Motel for a light green salad and a glass of water.
